Though finer details of the C-X17 is not made public yet speculations are rife about it being an advanced hybrid-electric saloon like its predecessors C-X16 and C-X75. It is also speculated the C-X17 will become the crossover vehicle which JLR management has already talked about.
The C-X16 was also unveiled to the public at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 2011. The C-X16 was later launched as the F-Type convertible, without the hybrid technology, a year later.
The F-Type was launched in India in July. Prices for the Jaguar F-TYPE S are Rs 1.37 crore and for the range topping F-TYPE V8S are Rs 1.61 crore (Ex-showroom Mumbai, pre- Octroi).
The C-X75 (so called to commemorate 75 years of Jaguar), a two seater, hybrid electric concept car, was showcased in 2010 at the Paris Motor Show. While production plans were finalised of this ultra powerful, clean-emission car, starting this year, the economic gloom forced Jaguar to shelve its plans indefinitely.
