United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change registration (UNFCCC) is an international environment treaty, which was formed with the objective of achieving quantified emission limitations through specific policies and measures to minimise the adverse effects of climate change.

After UNFCCC registration, the company was expecting to generate carbon credits from the current fiscal.

A Jai Balaji official said the company would get a maximum carbon credit benefit of 4,63,870 units over a period of 10 years.

"Currently, value of each carbon credit is hovering at Euro 10-11 and earning would depend on market price over the period of time," he said when asked about expected cashflow to the company over the period of 10 years.

The company has plants in Durgapur, Ranigunj and Liluah.
