The Japanese Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JCCI) has expressed interest in partnering Indian firms. The chamber which is on an exploratory mission to Bangalore met the Bangalore Chamber of Industry and Commerce (BCIC) and its members and said there is lot of potential to tap each other resources. |

Mallikarjun Kharge, Karnataka minister for water resources and transport welcoming the delegation said,"Karnataka will do all things required for the growth of economic ties between the two countries. We have excellent resources here and the success of companies like Toyota has proven there is huge potential in India. We promise you all support to have more Japanese investments." |

In an interactive session with the BCIC, the president of the JCCI and leader of the delegation, Tadao Ogoshi, said that Japanese industries were increasingly looking at global opportunities, more so in the recent past as there has been a slump in industrial growth. |

He added that in Singapore, there are about 3,000 industries and trade offices set up by the Japanese. |

"Though there were reports of an economic slowdown in Singapore, the strong fundamentals of the industries there will see them emerge stronger," Ogoshi noted. |

The president of the Indo-Japanese Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Karnataka, M K Ramachandra, said the two chambers can look at business alliances in agro-parks and food processing, informatics, software, biotechnology and other industries. |
