Japanese consumer durables major Hitachi is taking a majority stake in its air-conditioner manufacturing joint venture, Amtrex Hitachi Appliances Ltd.
The Japanese giant has filed an application before the Foreign Investment Promotion Board (FIPB) seeking approval to acquire a majority control in the Indian JV. Hitachi currently holds a 35.2 per cent stake in the joint venture company
