Castor oil exporter Jayant Agro Organics on Saturday reported more than two-fold jump in consolidated net profit at Rs 11.45 crore during first quarter ended June 30, on strong sales.
The company had posted a net profit of Rs 4.12 crore in the same quarter of the 2015-16 financial year, it said in a regulatory filing.
Jayant Agro Organics' net sales rose by 11.52% to Rs 387.51 crore during the quarter from Rs 347.47 crore in the year-ago period, it said.
Its expenses also remained higher at Rs 361.40 crore as against Rs 332.73 crore in the said period.
The Mumbai-based company manufactures castor oil and its products and exports them. It is also into power generation business.
