JC Middle East FZC, a subsidiary of Spain-based industrial valves manufacturer JC Fabrica de valvulas S.A., has announced that it would foray into the Indian market by setting up a factory at Mahindra City in Mumbai at an investment of Rs 100 crore. |
Initially, the company plans to import and sell valves in the Indian market till production starts at the 5-acre facility by the end of 2009. The plant would have the capacity to manufacture valves ranging from ½ an inch to 48 inches, the company said in a press release. |

JC currently has manufacturing locations in Spain, Canada, Brazil, China, United Arab Emirates (UAE), and specialises in manufacturing various types of valves, which are used worldwide by oil and gas, power, chemical and petrochemical industries. |

"Our main focus is to cater to the power, oil and gas industry requirements in India. We will be able to manufacture better quality valves in India as the overall process from raw material sourcing to assembly will be under a single entity, which will help in terms of delivery and pricing," said JC Valves President Faizal Kottikollon. |

He said the company would use vacuum technology castings produced by its foundry to cater to the power sector. These products currently being imported will be manufactured locally in the plant at Mahindra City. |

For the year ended December 31, 2007, the Group had a turnover of Rs 451 crore with a profit of Rs 64.5 crore, said the release. |
