Jet Airways ATR planes have been authorised to land in visibility of 300 metres.

The airline said it has secured Directorate General of Civil Aviation approval for the same and this will enable it to improve the fleet utilisation and minimise inconvenience to passengers due to fog during winter.

Jet Airways said it has received approvals for CAT II low visibility operations for its ATR fleet.

Captain. Nikhil B. Ved, Sr. Vice-President, Flight Operations, Jet Airways, said, "The CAT II authorisation for our ATR fleet is an important milestone for Jet Airways. It will enable Jet Airways to significantly enhance flight operations on ATR routes, especially during winter, and also help us improve on-time performance."

Jet Airways currently operates ATR flights to 35 destinations across India, connecting metro cities to Tier II destinations such as Aizawl, Bhopal, Dehradun, Diu, Gorakhpur, Indore, Imphal, Madurai and Silchar.
