India's premier international airline Jet Airways has expanded its code share partnership with American carrier Delta Airlines and UK-based Virgin Atlantic, thereby offering enhanced connectivity to passengers flying to 24 new western cities via London Heathrow.

"Effective November 2, Jet customers flying to North America will be able to connect through London's Heathrow to nine US destinations operated by Delta," stated a company a release.

According to the company's Director, Gaurang Shetty, the new arrangement will help its passengers travelling to and from US via London, Paris and Amsterdam.

"This expanded cooperation over London's Heathrow now allows us to offer our guests travelling to North America, multi-gateway connectivity over all of Jet Airways’ European destinations. Further, our loyalty program partnership will also enable frequent passengers of both carriers to accrue and redeem their miles across each other's entire network,” said Shetty.

Last month Jet tied up with Air France-KLM and Delta to enable code sharing on US-bound flights from Paris and Amsterdam.

Currently Jet Airways code shares with United Airlines-a Star Alliance member- on its US flights over London. The new arrangement will help enhance connectivity between the US and Indian subcontinent by increasing the number of destinations for flights flying to and from Delhi and Mumbai.

Among the US-bound flghts, new destinations include Atlanta, Boston, Detroit, Minneapolis, New York, Philadelphia, Portland, Salt Lake City and Seattle. While for in-bound flights, destinations have been increased to inculde Ahmedabad, Amritsar, Bangalore, Kozhikode, Chennai, Kochi, Coimbatore, Goa, Hyderabad, Indore, Jaipur, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mangalore, Pune, Thiruvananthapuram and Vadodara.

For the largest American airline Delta, this is the first time that its passengers would get an opportunity to fly to India via London with a single ticket.
