Jet Airways and its subsidiary, JetLite informed the National Stock Exchange (NSE) today that the group has garnered a 27 per cent market share in the month of August according to the statistics released by the Director General of Civil Aviation. Both the airlines also registered the highest ever on-time performance with 94 per cent (Jet Airways) and 94.1 per cent (JetLite) according to the regulatory body.
The revenue from the domestic operations of Jet Airways increased by 14.86 per cent, from 678,480 in August 2009 to 779,307 in August 2010. Also, the revenue from the international operations increased by 21.75 per cent, from 309,009 in August, 2009 to 376,223 in August 2010.
JetLite too posted a 6.1 per cent increase in the revenue passengers from 300,007 in August, last year to 318,254 this August.
Commenting on the performance of the group, Nikos Kardassis, CEO, Jet Airways said: " Jet Airways has been able to achieve highest on time performance which speaks volumes of deliverables by the staff. The airline has been responsive to the dynamic market requirements, our strategic marketing initiatives and global codeshare arrangements have provided the required impetus to the growth process, resulting in better realisation of revenue per passenger and growth of the airlines."
