A Jet Airways plane narrowly escaped a huge mishap in air. The incident would have happened when Jet Airways aircraft Boeing 707 400 flight number 9W 0346 was landing, and was on its way to land in Rajkot.

It managed to cross an Indian Air Force fighter aircraft spinning in the airspace of city, from a very close distance of one km. Later on, the Jet aircraft was grounded, postponing its flight schedule from Rajkot to Mumbai and will be allowed to fly after conducting all technical tests.

As a result, passengers travelling from Rajkot to Mumbai were kept waiting for at least two hours and were not informed about the actual reason for the postponment of the flight.

Finally, passengers had to depart from the waiting lounge and leave the airport following the cancellation of Jet Flight 9W 0346 flying to Mumbai, as it was grounded-off following a hairline escape from air mishap.

Despite repeated efforts and repeatedly requesting Rajkot Airport Authorities as well as the Air Traffic Controller to share the actual information about the incident, no information was shared in the context with the media persons.

However, when Air Traffic Controller T C Kannan, when asked refused to speak anything into the matter saying, "Why should I inform the media about same; I will be reporting it to the concerned authorities."

When media persons approached to the Jet Airways, Duty Manager, Neil Joy, requesting to share the facts regarding the whole incident, as the whole matter was related to the passengers security , he also refused to speak on anything saying.
