Full service carrier Jet Airways which has already cut down 26 per cent of its international operations, will bring more cuts after the peak season is over.
In a meeting held with Civil Aviation Minister Praful Patel and Oil Minister Murli Deora, Jet’s executives said that because of this cut in international operations, about five-six wide bodied aircraft will be lying idle. The company is looking at options to either lease them out or to ground them because even that is now profitable.
Company executives also talked about a 15 per cent cut in domestic operations due to which around eight aircraft of Jet Airways and its subsidiary JetLite will be lying idle.
