Jet Airways and Indian Airlines (IA) are likely to keep the fare war restricted to the economy class. This is unlike Air Sahara which is going to launch a six-ticket-six-destinations package for Rs 36,000 for the first class segment.
Jet and IA spokespersons said that it does not make much sense to extend the price war to the business class. The airlines claim that their business class is doing well.
Meanwhile, Jet Airways today announced fare cuts ranging between 35 per cent and 51 per cent in six more sectors. The slash comes close on the heels of IA dropping fares in nine additional sectors on Wednesday.
