Leading private carrier Jet Airways today said it has witnessed about 26 per cent growth in its domestic and over 29 per cent in international passenger traffic in January.
The airline has reported a 25.9 per cent surge in domestic and 29.6 per cent surge in international passenger traffic in January against the same period last year, a Jet Airways statement said here today.
The average seat factor for its international operations stood at 84.9 per cent in the reporting month, reflecting growing passenger demand on the international sector.
The robust growth numbers have been registered despite disruption in flight schedules over the northern sectors due to inclement weather and fog in Delhi in January, the airline said.
JetLite, the budget arm of the airline, also saw a 12.8 per cent rise in passenger traffic at an average seat factor of 75.1 per cent in the reporting month.
Jet Airways carried about 7,50,631 passengers in January compared to 5,96,235 last January in the domestic sector, while in the international sector, it ferried 3,64,041 passengers last month against 2,80,983 passengers in the year-ago period.
"Increased business and leisure travel during the winter has resulted in higher yields and higher network wide passenger load factors," its Chief Executive Officer Nikos Kardassis, said in the statement.
