JK Paper Q2 net dips by 17.5%
Country’s largest producer of branded paper-maker JK Paper on Friday reported a 17.5 per cent decline in its net profit for the quarter ended on September 30, 2008, to Rs 9.07 crore compared with Rs 11 crore a year ago. Total income has increased about 49.1 per cent during the second quarter of the current financial year to Rs 331.6 crore.
Novartis records H1 profit of Rs 59 crore
Novartis India has recorded a net profit of Rs 58.8 crore for the first half of 2008-09. Sales grew 7.5 per cent to Rs 303.2 crore during the corresponding period. The pharmaceutical sales were up by 5.3 per cent to Rs 210.5 crore y-o-y, while the generics business recorded sales of Rs 33.1 crore — a growth of 23.2 per cent.
SBT net up 70% to Rs 113.83 crore
State Bank of Travancore on Friday reported a 70.38 per cent increase in Q2 net profit to Rs 113.83 crore, as against Rs 66.81 crore during July-September 2008. Total income rose 24.78 per cent to Rs 1,141.86 crore during the period.

Can Fin Home Q2 net profit rises 3%
Can Fin Home Finance on Friday said its profit went up 2.93 per cent to Rs 8.42 crore in July-September this year, as against Rs 8.18 crore during the second quarter of 2007-08. Income rose 2.47 per cent to Rs 57.59 crore during the period.
SBI Home Fin Q2 net at Rs 5.45 lakh
SBI Home Finance has posted a net loss of Rs 5.45 lakh for the second quarter ended September 30, 2008, as against Rs 4.95 lakh y-o-y. Total income stood at Rs 2.62 lakh as against Rs 53 lakh, the housing finance company informed BSE on Friday.
