JLR's wholesale numbers up 35% y-o-y

Though the overall wholesale numbers dip by 15%

There is something to cheer for Tata Motors on the Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) front. JLR’s wholesales numbers for the month of September 2013 jumped by almost 35% on a year-on-year basis.

JLR’s global wholesale numbers touched 35,874, for the month of September 2013 from 26,461 in the same month last year.

Jaguar wholesales for the month were 6,438 vehicles (2,808 last year) and cumulative wholesales were 37,411 (21,606) vehicles, while Land Rover wholesales for the month were 29,436 (23,653 last year) vehicles and cumulative wholesales were 155,140 vehicles. Cumulative wholesales for Jaguar Land Rover for the fiscal were 1,92,551 vehicles.

However, Tata Motors Group global wholesales in September 2013 including Jaguar Land Rover, dipped 15%. The group’s wholesales number for the month touched a low of 87,316 from 1,03,656 in the same month last year.

Cumulative wholesales for the fiscal were 5,03,887 numbers from 579,037 last year.
 
Global wholesales of all commercial vehicles – Tata, Tata Daewoo and the Tata Hispano Carrocera range -- were 38,049 numbers. Cumulative commercial vehicles wholesales for the fiscal were 237,207 numbers.

Global wholesales of all passenger vehicles in September 2013 were 49,267 numbers, better than 48,895 in the same month last year. Though cumulative passenger vehicles wholesales for the fiscal were 266,680 numbers, lower than 295,491 last year.
