Tata-owned premium automotive brands Jaguar and Land Rover have reported a jump of 33 per cent to 21,134 units in worldwide sales in December.
Sales of the Jaguar brand, which makes contemporary luxury sedans, grew by 5 per cent during the same month to 4,794 units.
Meanwhile, demand for Land Rover, which makes premium class sports utility vehicles, was higher as sales stood at 16,340 units during the reporting month.
Tata Motors, which owns the two UK-based brands, did not provide comparable figures of December 2008, in the media release issued today.
The performance is measured on a low base of last year when demand for the luxury cars in all international markets where JLR operates slumped to new lows following the impact of the economic crash.
