JP Morgan Asset Management India has rejigged its senior management team, promoting Krishnamurthy Vijayan, formerly chief executive officer and wholetime director to executive chairman. Vijayan, who has been with JP Morgan Asset Management (JPMAM) since its entry into India, will focus on growing the business. However, he will continue to be responsible to Sebi and will work closely with the regional leadership team and ensure compliance with regulatory and governance related matters.

Christopher Spelman will become the head of the India asset management business. Spelman is an accountant by profession and has been with JP Morgan for over 11 years, working in various locations across the region, which has provided him with an extensive knowledge of group businesses.

In India, he will have responsibility for controlling the India asset management business, including operations, staffing and budgetary controls.
