Jindal Photo Limited (JPL), a marketing and distributing company for Fujifilm in India, is focusing on entry-level camera market in the country. The company has launched a new entry level camera of Fujifilm " Crystal-12 " here on Friday.

According to JPL advertising head, Amber Paintal, 2 million units of entry-level cameras worth about Rs 80 crore are being sold in India annually. However, 55 per cent of this potential is dominated by grey market particularly comprising cheap cameras from China.

In view of this, he said, JPL had rejigged its market strategy to capture the amateur segment and corner 15 per cent of the entry-level camera market in the country by 2006.

Affordability and accessibility would be the company's key growth drivers. Hence, the company worked hard on the pricing of the new product.

Attractively priced at Rs 395, the Crystal-12 camera also comes with a host of free goodies such as a 400 ASA film, camera pouch and two batteries.
