Jharkhand State Electricity Board (JSEB) aimed to set up three thermal power projects with a total generating capacity of 5000 MW. The board was working on the details of the projects in consultation with the state government, sources in JSEB said.
Conceived as a public-private partnership venture, the proposal included a 2000 MW greenfield power project on lands owned by Patratu Thermal Power Station near Ranchi, another 1000MW in a nearby location and a third one of 2000MW capacity be at Dumka, the sources added. The state government recently granted some coal blocks to JSEB in Latehar district for running the plants.
