JSL, Amara Raja, HDIL & Time Technoplast Q2 result

JSL back in black with Rs 63 cr profit
Stainless steel manufacturer JSL Ltd on Thursday reported a net profit of Rs 62.75 crore for the second quarter ended September 30, 2009. The company had a net loss of Rs 68.64 crore in the September quarter last year, JSL said in a filing with the Bombay Stock Exchange. Total income of the company increased to Rs 1,330.02 crore in the quarter under review from Rs 1,094.90 crore during the same period in the previous year, it said.

Amara Raja net jumps two-folds
Industrial and automotive battery company Amara Raja said its net profit jumped over two-folds to Rs 90.5 crore for the second quarter ended September 30, 2009, over the same period last year. Net sales rose to Rs 667 crore in the latest quarter ended September 30, against Rs 652.6 crore in the same period last year, Amara Raja said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.

HDIL net dips 44% to Rs 148.59 crore
Housing Development & Infrastructure Ltd (HDIL) reported a 44 per cent decline in net profit at Rs 148.59 crore during the second quarter ended September 30. Total income of the realty firm dropped to Rs 381.05 crore during the July-September quarter, from Rs 503.02 crore in the corresponding period a year ago.

Time Technoplast net up 33%
Plastic processing company Time Technoplast said its consolidated net profit rose by 33.36 per cent to Rs 24.62 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2009, over the same period last year. Total income increased to Rs 250.36 crore in the latest quarter ended September against Rs 204.95 crore in the same period last year.
