JSW Energy has posted a consolidated net loss of Rs 83 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2011 compared to a net profit of Rs 153 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2010.
The total income of the company stands at Rs 1,796 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2011 where as the same was at Rs 1,110 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2010.
In a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), JSW Energy said, "the operating results for the current quarter and nine months ended on December 31, 2011 are primarily in respect of 2600 MW capacity of thermal power plants located in the States of Karnataka, Maharashtra and Rajasthan and the 400 KV Jaigad-Koyna & Jaigad-Karad transmission lines in Maharashtra."
It further added that the figures for the quarter and nine months ended on December 31, 2010 were primarily for 1730 MW Capacity of Thermal Power Plants located in the States of Karnataka, Maharashtra and Rajasthan and the 400 KV Jaigad-Koyna Transmission Line in Maharashtra and hence were not comparable.
Shares of JSW Energy were trading at Rs 43.35% on the BSE, down 2.03%, at the closeof trading hours on Friday.
