JSW Energy today said it had started full commercial operations at its 1,200-MW Ratnagiri thermal power plant, besides resuming operations at Barmer power project.
The company has started commercial operations of the fourth unit, with 300 MW capacity, at the Ratnagiri plant in Maharashtra yesterday.
"As a result, the entire 1,200-MW thermal power plant is now fully operational and is supplying uninterrupted power to the state grid," JSW Energy said in a statement.
JSW Energy Joint Managing Director & CEO LK Gupta said the commissioning of Ratnagiri power plant comes at a critical time when the country is facing a power shortage.
The company has also resumed operations of 2X135 MW Barmer power project on October 12. This follows the grant of ad-hoc interim tariff by Rajasthan Electricity Regulatory Commission (RERC).
"Lignite mining by Barmer Lignite Mining Co (BLMCL) has commenced operation upon the transfer of mining licence for Kapurdi reserves in favour of BLMCL," the statement said.
