Despite the scarcity of land and power in Bihar, the Uttar Pradesh based JVL Group has shown interest in setting up a new mega food park in the state. The state government is now waiting for clearance from Ministry of Food Processing (MoFP) to proceed on this matter.

"JVL Group has shown interest in setting up a mega food park in Rohtas region," state's Industries Secretary Naveen Verma told Business Standard, "The group wants to set up an edible oil based mega food park. Apart from that they also want to set up a rice mill here. They want to take over the closed industrial cluster of Dalmianagar in Rohtas, which used to be one of the biggest production centres of hydrogenated vegetable oil or Vanspati in India." The state government is now waiting for the nod from MoFP to clear the project. However, the road does not seem to be without problems.
