Before joining GRSE, he held important posts of Admiral Superintendent, Naval Dockyard, Mumbai and Asaaistant Chief of Material, Dockyard and Refits in Integrated Head Quarter, MoD (Navy).
Admiral Sekhar graduated from the Naval College of Engineering. He is a post graduate in advance marine engineering and was commissioned into the Navy in 1972.
He was awarded Vishisht Seva Medal in 1993 for his excellent contribution to the Navy.
