Specialty restaurant chain, the Great Kabab Factory (TGKF) is planning to expand its presence in the overseas market and will set up 10 new outlets in the west asian region by the end of 2008, as it mulls new format outlets to tap tier-II towns within the country.

The company had recently forayed into the west asian market with a restaurant in Bahrain and plans to open its second outlet overseas in Muscat by the end of next month, followed by an outlet in Dubai by January.

"The TGKF brand has been very well received within India, which motivated us to set up shop abroad. We are quite aggressive on our expansion in the overseas market and are targeting to open at least 10 restaurants in West Asia by the end of next year," TGKF Director brand development Ashna Kapur told PTI.

She said, apart from the west asian region, the company is also mulling a venture into Europe and the US markets, besides opening outlets in neighbouring countries, including Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Nepal.

"We are looking for the right partner to foray into Europe and are confident that by next year we will be successful in setting up a restaurant in the UK," Kapur said.

Within India, TGKF has so far been concentrating on metropolitan cities but would soon come out with smaller format restaurants - Superstars - to tap the potential tier-II and -III cities offer. Superstars is an Indo-American dining restaurant.

TGKF is promoted by RHW Hotel Management Services.
