New Delhi based Kalindee Rail Nirman (Engineers), a major player in railway signaling and telecommunication projects, has secured a contract worth Rs 90.95 crore from Delhi Metro for track-related work.The company, which received a letter of approval (LoA) for the project from the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) on June 6, is to begin the work for the second phase of the metro project in a month. "We have been granted segregated works for five different sections of the new phase of Metro Rail. The work has to be completed within two years", a company official said.According to DMRC, phase II of the project involves construction of 121 kms of railway track and 79 new stations. The project will see all three lines that are currently operational getting extended. While the Dwarka-Indraprastha line will extend upto Noida Sector 32, the Delhi University-Central Secretariat line will go upto Sushank Lok in Gurgaon and the Ritala line is to extend up to Dishad Garden.Kalindee has executed gauge conversion project, new railway line construction, modernization of railway yards, upgradation of railway sidings in ports, power plants, petroleum sidings, access control systems for Metro, fibre optic networks, etc.
