Kartrocket, an e-commerce platform for small and medium enterprises and retailers, has announced a Series-A investment led by Nirvana Venture Advisors. US-based 500 Startups and Japan-based Beenos (NetPrice) also participated in the financing round.
KartRocket had earlier raised an angel round of funding from 5ideas, 500 Startups and angel investor Jatin Aneja in July 2013. From 100 customers, KartRocket has grown to 1900 paying customers in a matter of 12 months. Founded in 2012, the Delhi-based KartRocket provides a 'do-it-yourself' e-commerce platform, keeping in mind the unique requirements of SMEs. SMEs can launch their web and mobile-ready stores with best web and mobile site designs, built-in shipping, payment and multi-channel sales integration. Some of KartRocket's prominent clients include, Da Milano, Uni Style Image, Valyoo Technologies, TantraTshirts.
Info Edge invests Rs 10 cr in Canvera
Info Edge (India) Ltd, which runs and invests in consumer internet businesses, has infused Rs 10 crore more into Bangalore-based online photography start-up Canvera Digital Technologies Pvt Ltd. The investment was done through optionally convertible cumulative redeemable preference shares, the company said in a stock market disclosure. Early this year, Info Edge had invested Rs 13.5 crore into Canvera. With the fresh investment, Info Edge's total exposure to Canvera has risen to Rs 67 crore.
Rico raises $66,000
Kochi Startup Village incubatee MindHelix has raised over $66,000 through crowd-funding platform Kickstarter for its product 'Rico' that converts one's spare smartphone into a home security device, according to a VC Circle. The start-up aims to raise $100,000 via Kickstarter with seven days left to reach the target. Rico is a robot-like device that can convert one's old smart phone device into a home security device. Anyone with a spare smart phone gets access to affordable smart-home security by plugging it into Rico.
