Having just commissioned in July 2012, KEC International's power and telecom cables manufacturing plant at Vadodara has already bagged a Rs 36 crore order. The fresh order is part of a larger order for cables worth Rs 114 crore bagged by KEC International, the flagship company of RPG group.

While the plant is operational in its initial phase, at peak production capacity in near future KEC International's new Vadodara plant will add Rs 350 crore turnover for cables.

Set up at an investment of Rs 175 crore, KEC International's Vadodara plant will mainly target the growing extra high voltage (EHV) market within India, apart from catering to the export market especially in Africa.  However, the percentage share of domestic sales will be approximately 80-85%.

An engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) major with presence in verticals of power transmission, power systems, cables, railways, telecom and water, KEC International has a current order book in cables stands worth approximately Rs 350 crore.

The company has powered infrastructure development in 46 countries across South Asia, Middle East, Africa, Central Asia and Americas.
