The England-based premium kitchen appliances maker Kenwood is planning to set up a manufacturing facility in the country once it crosses Rs 200 crore turnover which is likely to happen in the next two years, a company official said.

Kenwood India operations head KK Kishore said the company is currently working with one contract manufacturer based in Coimbatore for India-specific products.

"We need to see a level of scale in this country. Working with a partner is far more likely, and then we will go further," Kenwood England Commercial Director Mark Broad told media persons here without specifying when they are going for manufacturing.

Launching its 65 products across 12 categories here today, Broad said hand blenders, mixer-grinders and choppers will be a viable part of their sales.

"We expect to garner Rs 70 crore in revenue from India in the current financial year," Kishore said, adding the company is in final stages of negotiations with large-format retail chains here and will be present in about 2,000 outlets by March next.

The company will be investing about Rs 14 crore for marketing activities in the next three years, said Broad.
