Kerala cable operators to launch channel soon

The already crowded television channel scene in Kerala will soon have one more addition.

Christened Kerala Vision, the new Malayalam channel is being launched by the cable operators in the state.

The channel will beam its programmes out of its main studio in Ernakulam and is all set to go on air soon.

According to sources here, Kerala Vision has plans to begin test transmission this month.

The promoters of Kerala Vision plan to interlink all the cable television networks in all the districts in the state by making use of the optical fibre network of the Railways.

The logo of the channel was unveiled here by education minister M A Baby.

According to the cable TV service providers, who are the promoters of the new channel, Kerala Vision's programme menu will constitute content very different from those dished out by the existing Malayalam channels in the state.
