KG Denim to set up studio stores at airports

K G Denim, manufacturer of leading mid-segment denim brand 'Trigger', expects to set up studio stores in international and domestic airports in India to build its brand image at an investment of about Rs110-120 lakh.
 
The Coimbatore-based company today inaugurated its first studio store at the Coimbatore airport and is expected to open such stores in Kochi, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Delhi and Bangalore by the end of December. All the stores will be managed by the company.
 
"This initiative is aimed at building our brand image and showcasing our key strengths in denim manufacturing and the facilities available with us, to the global customers," N R Rajhagopalan, vice-president, Trigger, K G Denim, told Business Standard.
 
"We want to showcase our one-stop solution "" from cotton to final product "" and also establish some fashion element in this process," he added.
 
The studio store is also expected to double up as a business query desk and would interact with the business travellers who may be potential customers.
 
In a press statement, Balakrishnan said that the company deployed the latest and the best processing system from manufacturing denim fabric, washing, treating to retailing.
 
The company has been making fresh investments to expand production capacity of sewing, washing and treatment facilities since July 2004, he added.
 
In an initiative to safeguard its 'Trigger' brand, the company will bring under its wings all large format (800-1000) sq ft Trigger Stores, which are currently franchised, a company release said.
 
It has identified 42 stores (10 each in Delhi and Mumbai, 11 in Bangalore and 12 in Hyderabad) and has already taken over 2 stores in Mumbai and Baroda.
