Khaitan Electricals, S Kumars & Valuemart Q4 results

Khaitan Electricals has reported 200 per cent growth in the company's net profit at Rs 7.6 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2006 as compared with Rs 2.5 crore reported in the previous corresponding period.

Net sales have grown by 78 per cent to Rs 203 crore compared with Rs 121 crore reported a year ago.

S Kumars net up 136% at Rs 34.44 crore

Textile player S Kumars Nationwide (SKNL), recorded 136 per cent growth in net profit at Rs 35.44 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2006, as compared with Rs 14.97 crore in the same period last year.

The company recorded 26.31 per cent growth in turnover over the corresponding period last year at Rs 247.89 crore as compared with Rs 196.2 crore.

For the year ending March 31, 2006, the company recorded a turnover of Rs 889.73 crore. Operating profits were at Rs 152.46 crore. Net profits were at Rs 99.77 crore. Last year figures were unavailable.

"Looking ahead, SKNL was able to plan and put in place a lot of new initiatives, the impact of which will be visible during FY 06-07. These include, export thrust and a domestic brand for home textile division, new brand in consumer textile and TWS divisions," said Nitin Kasliwal, vice chairman and managing director.

Valuemart net profit at Rs 42.24 lakh

Valuemart Info Technologies (Valuemart), a Bangalore based IT and BPO company, has posted net profit of Rs 42.24 lakh in the fourth quarter ended 31st March 2006, as against net loss of Rs 8.58 lakh during the corresponding quarter previous fiscal.

The total income during the period rose to Rs 110.35 lakh as against Rs 1.85 lakh during the corresponding quarter in fiscal 2004-05.

Announcing the results, C K Vasudevan, managing director, Valuemart, said, this had been a good year for the company.

"We have completed the restructuring exercise and turned to be a debt free company now."

The accumulated loss of the company has been reduced to Rs 1.11 crore from Rs 17.49 crore, he added. Recently, Valuemart had increased its stake in Tejas Infoscripts, a legal outsourcing company, to 100 per cent.

The company had also announced a strategic alliance with the US-based BIAS Corporation, as an offshore delivery partner, to provide backend development and maintainance support.
