The Bhubaneswar based Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT), which recently got the status of deemed university, has achieved record success in placement of its students in the 2003-04 season. |
As many as 70 blue chip companies visited KIIT campus for recruitment and drafted in 720 students of the 2003-04 batch in B. Tech, MCA and MBA stream. |

Added to this the offers received by the students in diploma and ITI streams, the total campus recruitment goes up to over a thousand. |

Of the seventy corporate houses that visited KIIT, there were more than 40 IT majors including Satyam, TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Kanbay Software India, Mastek, HCL, L&T, Infotech etc. |

Besides, nearly fifty companies conducted campus interviews for students of degree engineering and MCA courses while more than 25 companies drafted in MBA pass outs of IBAT - the B-School of KIIT. |

The non-IT industry majors which visited KIIT for placement included Godrej, Telco, Essar, Whirlpool, Siemens India, RPG Group, Harare Engineering, etc. More than 80 percent students from all streams of degree engineering and MCA are said to have got job offers. |

Similarly, the companies, which visited IBAT for recruitment of young managers included such reputed firms as ICICI Bank, Bayers India, GTC Industries, India Bulls, HCL, ACC, Redington, Wockhardt, Elly Lilly etc. |

"The quality of teaching and training at KIIT make all the difference", says a spokesperson of the institute. |

The visits of the blue chip companies and their rigorous selection through campus interview are any indication of the success of an institution, then KIIT is miles ahead of other institutions in the state in facilitating employment of its students, she said and added that the placement record of KIIT could be compared with NITs, IITs and IIMs. |

Meanwhile, continuing this success story in placement, 260 of the 460 students of KIIT from the 2004-05 batch have already received job offers in six companies of national and international repute during their campus visits. |
