Of the total 39 lakh motorcycles sold annually all over the country, 26 lakh are sold in the combination segment alone.
This segment is also the fastest growing among all three motorcycle segments with an annual growth of 28 per cent.
A huge number of consumers are shifting from scooters to motorcycles and companies spend a whopping Rs 350 crore annually on advertising for motorcycles in India.
The other two segments are the economy segment, which has Bajaj Boxer, TVS Max, CD Dawn and Kinetic Boss, while the performance segment has motorcycles of 150 cc and above.
According to figures, while Hero Honda still controls over 50 per cent of the combination motorcycle segment, TVS has a 30 per cent share.
