Rajkot based kitchenware industry has lost over 30 per cent business in last six months due to domestic as well as international economic slowdown.

"We have lost more than 30 percent of our business in past six months due to global economic slowdown worldwide. Most of the manufacturers in Rajkot supply kitchenware items to large companies in India and abroad," said Chandubhai Kotadia, president of Rajkot Kitchenware Association.

While bigger kitchenware players are only suffering from slowdown in demand, the smaller ones are also reeling under volatile price of plastic and steel. "These are the main raw materials required for manufacturing kitchenware items and prices of both of them have been unstable since last one year," Kotadia added.
