Kloudpad to offer tablets to students

The company will launch an online campaign to reach out to the students

As part of corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme, UK-based Kloudpad Mobility Research will offer Kloudpad 3G tablet with preloaded CBSE/state syllabus study content to students in Kerala at a discounted price.

To begin with, the company would launch an online campaign to reach out to the students. It will later tie-up with the state education department and the Kerala CBSE School Managements Association to offer tablets to all students from class VI-XII.

"As we gear up for major investments in Kerala, we want to send out a message that we are really committed to improving education facilities for students. We are pursuing avenues to partner with the state government to offer the scheme to a wider group of students," said Aromal Jayaraj, co-founder and managing director of Kloudpad.

The Intel-powered tablet, which was launched at CeBIT India, held in Bengaluru recently, will be offered to students with preloaded "Smart School" class content for Rs 10,999 as against its actual price of Rs 14,000. The 'Smart School' application offers interactive CBSE/ ICSE and state syllabus-approved study content.

Kloudpad Mobility Research Private Ltd, a subsidiary of UK-based Kloudpad, started its operations in the city through the Emerging Kerala investor meet hosted by the state government in 2012.

"The classroom content, as per the syllabus, will be bundled only after the student registers at kloudpad.in for activation," said Abbishek Jayaraj, CEO of global business operations, Kloudpad.

Students will need to fill up the online form at kloudpad.in to enter his name, school, student identity card card copy, classroom choice and curriculum. They can avail of a discount code to be used in slatestore.in for ordering the Kloudpad tablet bundled with the classroom content.

It is in talks with Sony Corporation for integrating the latter's high speed data transfer technology into Kloudpad tablets for new features.
