At Kodak India, the Human Resource Development department is a strategic business partner to all its other divisions and is closely integrated with business development and long-term growth of the company. Kodak officials claim that it has been growing 20 per cent per annum thanks to its HR policies. Recently, the company introduced some new initiatives on the training front.
To begin with, the multinational has launched interactive training stations in India. All its departments such as sales, marketing, manufacturing and shared resources-support function group are covered under this training.
For re-training and upgradation of employees skills in the digital aspects of photography products, Kodak India has set up multimedia-driven interactive training stations which employees can use to re-train themselves. Employees have to go undergo a minimum of 40 hours of training by December.
Officials says that the need for re-training arises because photography is going digital and existing products are fast becoming obsolete with new ones taking their place.
