Hyderabad-based CVR Group-led Krishnapatnam Power Corporation has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Andhra Pradesh government to build 2,780 MW capacity of thermal power projects with an estimated investment of Rs 16,680 crore.
The project is located on the coastal region of Bay of Bengal in Tamminapatnam Mommidi revenue Panchayat villages, proximate to Krishnapatnam Port, in SPS Nellore District, Andhra Pradesh. The ambitious project is expected to create direct or indirect employment opportunities for approximately 1,500 people.
The project will include one 800 MW unit and three 660 MW units.
Chinta Sasidhar, director, Krishnapatnam Power Corporation said, “The recent agreement has tremendously fortified our commitment and contribution towards the macro scheme of ‘Infrastructure Mission’ of Andhra Pradesh which envisions the creation of world class infrastructure for excellent connectivity and augmenting power generation capacity”.
“With the commissioning of these projects, we expect the huge demand of the state to be dealt actively apart from creating immense job opportunities,” he further added.
CVR Group has interests in engineering, construction, ports, power, software development and exports.
