Kundan ties up with US firm

On the heels of the launch of Jolen Cream Bleach from Jolen Inc of Fairfield, US, through a licensing agreement with the Kundan group of New Delhi, the company has expanded its product portfolio by launching a hair remover kit in Rajasthan.

Jolen Inc, established in 1955 by John and Evelyn Kossak, is a popular women's cosmetics brand. For the past 50 years, the company has been offering Jolen cream bleach.

"Jolen is now set to revolutionise the cosmetic market in India by offering a complete hair remover kit," a company official said. The kit has specially packaged antiseptic properties.

Speaking on the launch of this new offering from Jolen, R Bakshi, general manager (marketing), Kundan Care Products, remarked, "We have entered into a tie-up with Jolen to manufacture and market this product in India."

The Kundan group is the only one outside the US and Germany to get manufacturing rights for Jolen.

The company has got into an agreement with Jolen, US, and has the licence to sell its products in India. Kundan is also the sole recipient of the manufacturing expertise offered by Jolen Inc. Bakshi said Jolen's complete hair remover kit had been launched in Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, and Lucknow.

Encouraged by the consumer response, Kundan will now make the product available in the retail outlets in Rajasthan.

Bakshi said company hoped to sell products of Rs 50-60 lakh in Rajasthan in the first year itself.
