DREAMS (Deepak Raj Entertainment and Multimedia Solutions Private Limited), a Hyderabad-based entertainment and multimedia solutions start-up, plans the theatrical release of its first animation feature length film " Kutti Chetan and Friends " by the end of this year.

"Post-production of the non-mythological, 100-minute duration animated feature film is currently under way in India, Manila and the Philippines. The Rs 12-crore film would be released in five languages " Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Bhojpuri and English " and we expect to garner Rs 18 crore through outright sale of the film," DREAMS managing director and CEO Deepak Jadhav said here on Thursday.

Produced by Hyderabad-based realtor V Rajeshwar Rao, and co-produced and directed by Jadhav, Kutti Chetan is a story of a mischievous blue spirit with no memory of his legendary past.

"DREAMS has a business plan to target the niche area of children as they have a major say in Indian households consumption patterns and hence contribute to the success of a movie. The film industry had traditionally shied away from peddling children's films. Therefore, we treat this as an ill-explored genre having great potential for growth," Jadhav said.

Besides the theatrical release, DREAMS plans to introduce merchandise based on Kutti Chetan characters. It is also working on two other dream projects, Inside Me and The Trap, each at an investment of Rs 12 crore, he added.
