Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has won Rs 1,006 crore contract from the Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) to set up nine new wellhead platforms at Mumbai High, off Mumbai coast. |
The platforms are expected to boost oil output from Mumbai High South by around 2.15 million tonnes per year and increase gas production by 3.87 million cubic metres per day. |
ONGC has already invested Rs 8,200 crore for redevelopment at Mumbai High over five-year period to add additional 76 million tonnes of production. L&T will complete engineering, procurement, fabrication and installation of the platforms. |
The fabrication work of the wellhead platforms will be carried out at L&T's Hazira unit in Gujarat and Mangalore unit, according to a press release. L&T will subcontract engineering for this project to Aker Kvaerner. |
L&T is expected to deliver five platforms by April 2005 and the remaining four by February 28, 2006. |
L&T will also deliver around 30,000 tonne of topsides and jackets for the project. |
