Larsen and Toubro (L&T) today announced its biggest order of the financial year — a Rs 6,500-crore order from Jaiprakash Power Ventures.
L&T’s power equipment division bagged this order to supply boiler, turbine and generator package, and commission Jaiprakash’s 1,980-Mw power project in Karchana district, Uttar Pradesh.
The project is based on super-critical technology and will comprise three units of 660 Mw each. The first unit is scheduled to go into commercial production in 48 months.
This is one of the biggest orders for the division and it will take the total orderbook of this division to Rs 26,000 crore. The total orderbook of L&T, mainly contributed by the construction division, stood at Rs 1,07,816 crore as on June 30.
