Larsen & Toubro (L&T) today announced a tie-up with New Zealand-based Provenco to supply petrol station forecourt technology to Bharat Petroleum Corporation (BPCL). The technology will be applied across 77 BPCL petrol stations in the northern and western regions over an initial project period of nine months.According to a release issued by L&T to the BSE today, Provenco will supply retail forecourt technology to BPCL petrol stations including point-of-sale, back office system, category management like dry stock and wet stock and electronic payments. It will also integrate forecourt devices like dispensers, tank guaging system, RFID (Radio Frequency Identification device) tag readers used for identifying the attendant who delivers the fuel and EDC (Electronic Data Capture) machines used as indoor payment terminal for night transactions.RN Mukhija, president (electrical & electronics) & board member of L&T, said: "With a host of forecourt technology features now available, our association with Provenco in this regard will help build customer confidence to higher levels.
