"In the transportation and infrastructure business, new orders worth Rs 1,035 crore have been won," L&T said in a statement.
These include a major engineering, construction and procurement (EPC) order from Rail Vikas Nigam for building roadbed, major and minor bridges, track linking, outdoor signalling and electrical works in connection with doubling of Sambalpur-Barpali, Barpali-Bolangir, Bolangir-Titalgarh sections, part of Sambalpur-Titalgarh doubling of East Coast Railway project in Odisha, it said.

Another order has been received from the Public Works Department, Maharashtra for rehabilitation and upgradation of a NH 222 stretch to two-lane on EPC basis under National Highways Development Project (NHDP) IV.
"Also received is a turnkey order from Government of Odisha for two-laning of Kanakotra to Jharsuguda section with paved shoulder including construction of a bypass at Belpahar in Odisha," it said.
L&T said its building and factories business has bagged orders worth Rs 562 crore including a major turnkey order from Lucknow Development Authority for construction of MIG/super MIG flats.
Besides its water and renewable energy business has secured orders worth Rs 553 crore including a contract for execution of river front development project in Patna from Bihar Urban Infrastructure Development Corporation.
It said the power transmission and distribution business bagged new orders worth Rs 502 crore in domestic and international markets including a contract from Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation for constructing 132 KV GIS substation at Doha festival city on EPC basis.
The company scrip was trading at Rs 1,235.65, up 3.19%, on the BSE in the late afternoon.
