Larsen & Toubro (L&T) bagged contract worth Rs 287.37 crore from Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) for the construction of Elevated Access Road from Western Express Highway, Mumbai, to the Chatrapathi Shivaji International Airport.The project won by the company's construction division is to be completed in 30 months. The scope of work involves design and construction of 1,850m long 6 lane corridor consisting of pedestrian and vehicular subways, resurfacing of roads at Western Express Highway including the construction of a 1,150m long, 6 lane elevated access road as well as one 165m long tunnel. The elevated access road will be built using segmental construction technique.When completed, this critical project will provide easy and quick access to and from Chatrapathi Shivaji International Airport being developed by Mumbai International Airports.
