Hyderabad-based Lanco Infratech today reported a whopping 68 per cent jump in its profit after taxes, at Rs 194.7 crore for the quarter ended June 30.
The company posted a profit after tax of Rs 115.9 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal, Lanco Infratech said in a statement.
The current orderbook of the company stands at Rs 24,800 crore.
"Our power business has contributed to the profits, 900 MW of additional power capacity has come up during this quarter," J Suresh Kumar Chief Finance Officer Lanco Infratech told PTI.
He added that a substantial jump in profits in the coming quarters is expected from the power sector.
About 900 MW electricity has been added this fiscal, lot more is coming up this fiscal, Kumar said.
