The Godrej group-promoted Lawkim India has entered into a joint venture with the US-based UpStream to set up a contact centre, Lawkim UpStream Contact Management.
Lawkim would hold around 90 per cent of the equity in the company initially, with UpStream holding the balance 10 per cent, said Vijay Crishna, managing director, Lawkim India.
However, the joint venture has factored in a gradual scaling up of the UpStream stake in the company, based on certain parameters.

The contact centre will be based in Thane, near Mumbai, and have a capacity of 600 seats with scope for future expansions. The joint venture will cater to the corporate travel business.
UpStream presently has 6 contact centres located throughout the US with an employee strength of around 1,100 people.
