Leitwind Shriram bags Rs 346-cr order from Neyveli Lignite

Contract is expected to be executed over a period of ten months

Leitwind Shriram Manufacturing Ltd today said it has bagged an order worth Rs 346 crore from state-run Neyveli Lignite Corp for supply of wind turbines.

The company -- a joint venture between Shriram Group and Italy-based Windfin BV -- is into design, manufacture, installation and maintenance of wind electric generators.

In a statement, Leitwind Shriram said it has received Rs 346 crore order.

The contract from Neyveli Lignite Corp is related to a 51 MW wind farm at Kaluneerkulam, Tamil Nadu, and is expected to be executed over a period of ten months.

The scope of the work includes procuring of land, designing, manufacturing, supplying, erecting, testing, commissioning and synchronising with grid.

"This order follows the successful completion of a project in Andhra Pradesh for Orient Green Power Company Ltd and is indicative of the steady improvement in order momentum," Leitwind Shriram Manufacturing's Managing Director P Ashok said.
