Lenovo, India’s second largest PC maker, is opening new 11 Lenovo exclusive stores across Maharashtra. The initiative builds on Lenovo’s overarching plan to invest in retail expansion across high potential tier 2-5 cities. Also, it aims to open 1,000 exclusive stores by the end of March 2012.
Speaking on the occasion, Rajesh Thadani, director, consumer business segment, Lenovo India said, "Given that Pune has a huge student population, it becomes one of the most important markets for us, as we envisage huge growth potential from the youth segment. This move is in line with our ‘Get closer to consumers’ strategy, highlighting our increased focus on deeper retail penetration across India."
With this launch, Lenovo owns 12 exclusive stores in Pune and has appointed Ahmedabad-based ECS Biztech Pvt Ltd, as its partner for retail business.
Lenovo has inaugurated 11 exclusive stores in Pune, Nashik, Nagpur, Amravati, Aurangabad, Akola and other tier 4-5 cities like Sangli, Latur, Jalgaon, Kolapur and Solapur.
