Consumer electronics major LG Electronics India today said it was confident of achieving a sales target of Rs 11,500 crore in the current year.
"Our sales target is Rs 11,500 crore for this year and we are confident of achieving it," LG India Director (Sales and Marketing) V Ramachandran told PTI.
The ensuing wedding season in the north and the festive season in the south would help the company to reach its target, he said.
"This month, sales will definitely be higher in the north because of the wedding season there. From the 20th of the next month, sales should go up in the south as the festive season starts," Ramachandran said.
He was confident that the company would be able to increase its market share in the mobile phones and personal computer segments in the remaining part of the year, as it did not have sizeable shares in those markets.
The consumer durables sector did well weathering the current interest rate scenario and high inflation in recent times, he said replying to a question.

"The impact is different from one sector to the other. The consumer durables sector did not face much heat because sales of the sector do not always depend on consumer loans by financial institutions," Ramachandran said.
During the September-October period, LG's sales went up by around 50 per cent to Rs 2,535 crore over the same period last year. It recorded 68 per cent growth in sales of refrigerators, 60 per cent in the washing machine segment and 41 per cent in microwaves during the period.
